Licensing

The free layouts we offer are authored by web designers from around the world who have released their works under a number of different licenses (or in some cases license-free, ie. public domain). If you use a layout from our site, support its author by reading and complying with the license under which it was released.

What is a .ZIP file and what do I do with it?

The ZIP format is a standard archive format that enables the distribution of multiple files as a single, compressed, easy to distribute file. Most modern operating systems have built-in tools to deal with these files, but in the event yours doesn't, download 7-Zip.

What do I do with a layout once I've unzipped it?

With the layout unzipped you can work on it with the tool of your choice, be it a WYSIWYG web authoring tool or a simple text editor (if you prefer to work with code directly). If you don't already have such a tool here are a few recommendations:
